Pretoria: The Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities joins the global community in commemorating World Autism Month this April, reaffirming South Africa’s
commitment to building an inclusive society that recognises and supports persons on the autism spectrum
In commemoration of the month, the Minister in the presidency responsible for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, will Tuesday 02 April 2026, receive
and welcome a memorandum presented by Autism Matters RSA, in partnership with Autism South Africa and Disabled People South Africa in Cape Town.

World Autism Month provides an important platform to raise awareness about autism, promote acceptance, and advocate for the full inclusion of persons with autism in all aspects of society.
