PRETORIA: The Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Hon. Sindisiwe Chikunga, will on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, deliver the keynote address at the 8th Annual Women in Business & Leadership Conference, hosted at the Regenesys Campus, 165 West Street, Sandton, Johannesburg.

The conference forms part of South Africa’s Women’s Month programme and takes place as the nation commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the 1956 Women’s March under the national theme: “Empowered Women, Empower the Nation.”

The conference will convene government leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, academics, diplomats and development partners to deliberate on advancing women’s economic participation and leadership in shaping Africa’s future.

Minister Chikunga’s keynote address will underscore the government’s commitment to accelerating women’s economic empowerment as a catalyst for inclusive growth, sustainable development and social transformation. The address will highlight the priorities of the Government in relation to women’s economic empowerment, the Medium-Term Development Plan (2024–2029) and the work of the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities in mainstreaming and advocating for an enabling environment for women to thrive as entrepreneurs, innovators, leaders and participants in the global economy.
